Apparently Hillary Clinton is getting ready to concede what the rest of us have known as obvious for the past few months. Senator Barack Obama is going to get the nod to be the presidential nomination for the Democrats. Then again, she may not give up yet. Always trust a broad to beat a dead horse when it comes to power plays.
On a separate note. Obama is the best thing that could have happened for the Dems. Smart, young(er), well spoken, and a harbinger of change. With any luck he could actually do 1/5th of the stuff he plans on... but that brings up the broader issue. As demonstrated by some of our British friends (Clarkson, Hammond & May from BBC's Top Gear in the U.K.) when they visited the Southern states... folks in the south don't like Dems, don't like Barack and don't like intelligence. There may be rioting on the horizon. All those gun-toting, facist, white-bread, pig-faced Republican right-wing Christian abortion-clinic-bombing morons are clustered together in a few scary dueling-banjo states. Truthfully, I am surprised that Barack made it this far. I just hope that there is never an assassination attempt. Hell, they did Kennedy in just for being a Catholic. In case nobody noticed... an intelligent African-American man may become the next President of the USA. A wonderful day in my book, if for no other reason than he's got real hopes and plans for change. That's probably very dangerous for him. The problem is that there are too many Republican/Christian brainwashed uneducated racist bigot moron snipers in this country. Not to mention the rich fat-cat politicians who will get sidelined by sweeping changes on Capitol Hill. They're not gonna like it either... and they have money... and they are part of the good-old-boy network. If something happens to Sen Obama, investigators should start water-boarding republicans.
Hell, we should do that anyway. Here's to a sure thing.
